Biography
In 2018, I completed my doctoral degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. After graduation, I joined Tencent’s FinTech department where I specialized in applied AI technology for risk management and anti-money laundering. Since 2019, I have been with Shenzhen University (SZU) as an Assistant Professor in the College of Electronics and Information Engineering. More recently, I co-founded a biomedical engineering company, Guangdong Jiuzhi Technology Co., Ltd, in July 2021 that is dedicated to developing intelligent wearable devices, photoplethysmography (PPG) sensing chips, and comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic solutions through wearable devices.
My research has primarily focused on developing novel algorithms and techniques for computational intelligence, optimization algorithms and machine learning, with emphasis on their application in healthcare wearable and monitoring devices, manufacturing and electric vehicle charging scheduling. I have published seven top-tier journals and eleven conference papers, including IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Applied Soft Computing and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. Our work has received widespread recognition in the field, demonstrating the impact and relevance of our research.
To bridge the gap between academic research and industry applications, I co-founded a biomedical engineering company focused on developing intelligent wearable devices and comprehensive diagnostic solutions in 2021. As the company’s CTO, I have gained hands-on experience in developing electronic devices, business, and investment knowledge. Our flagship product is a ring with advanced sensors for health and activity monitoring, including heart rate, such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, steps and skin temperature measured at 2.5-minute intervals, with a battery life of 6.5 days. It has demonstrated the mutually reinforcing relationship between academia and innovation.
